Stainbank member of 50 years resigns
The committee members are Beattie Johnson Webber, Val Dolby, Sheila von der Zon and we would like one other member so do think about it.

STAINBANK Women’s Institute (WI) president Arlene Greenfield opened the meeting with unfortunately many members missing but a very big welcome to all those who took the trouble to attend the annual AGM.
Thoughts as usual went out to all members who were unwell and particularly to Flo Harper.
Members were asked at the last meeting to put forward any nominations for positions.
Executive member Maureen Lavis once again gave out the nominations, which were seconded. A very grateful thank you to the president Arlene Greenfield, who once again took on the post of president; and thanks to Linda Hewer vice president, who kindly also took on the post as treasurer.
Barbara Isley has returned as secretary, as she is also group secretary. These members really do a magnificent job and Stainbank WI’s sincere thanks go to them. Committee members are Beattie Johnson Webber, Val Dolby, Sheila von der Zon and one other member is needed, so members are urged to think about it.
Linda Hewer is now the treasurer as amazing member Connie Stringer, who has been a member for 50 years, has resigned and is relocating. Hopefully Stainbank WI will still see lots of her. How can sufficient thanks be given to Connie for all her work and assistance over 50 years? Many thanks also to those members who go the extra mile and do extra duties during the meetings There were ten members with full attendance during the year.
The president’s and vice presidents reports were read and the minutes and treasurer’s report. Thanks as always to the tea hostess.
After tea is was time to learn how to defend ourselves in times of stress. Shaun Smith of Kombat Security gave a really informative and demonstrated many ways of defending yourself, just by the way you hold your handbag or how you walk So do be aware members and put what we have been advised into practice It is absolutely necessary in this day and age.
At Stainbank WI’s next meeting it will host the Southern Hills AGM so each and every member is expected to be present.
