Murder accused linked to officers’ death back in court
The accused also face charges of conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravating circumstances, allegedly committed earlier this year.
THE five murder accused linked to the killing of The Bluff resident Captain Louis Nel and his colleague Sergeant Mandla Khuzwayo will be back in the dock on October 16.
Simangaliso Tembe (39), Mduduzi Ntuthuko Myeza (46), Bongani Trulove Zulu (61), Wandile Ntuthuko Nyawo (38) and Sibusiso Sibisi (46) appeared at the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on September 28.
They are facing charges of conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravating circumstances, two counts of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The charge of conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravating circumstances is alleged to have been committed between February and April 2026. The remaining offences are alleged to have been committed on April 30.
Regional spokesperson for the National prosecuting Authority, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, said Nel and Khuzwayo were members of the police Crime Intelligence Unit, and the accused are alleged to have stolen cash amounting to R900 000.
