Stainbank WI quizzed on films of yesteryear

After tea it is on with the quiz presented by Lynne Graham with twenty questions on movies of the long and distance past.

STAINBANK Women’s Institute (WI) president Arlene Greenfield welcomed all members and friends.

Everyone was asked to keep Elizabeth Keith, Monica Wilson and Desiree Cousins who are not at all well, in their thoughts and prayers.

The WI was sorry to have to say farewell to two longstanding members of the institute – Gladys Pole and Wendy van Eyk, who are off to the Village. Go well.

The charity for the meeting was Evelyn House.

Raffle tickets are still available, at only R5 each. What a great outing the WI enjoyed to the Umgeni River Bird Park. It was a bit chilly but the bird show was so entertaining and informative. The birds were so close at hand and the great show was followed by delicious apple pie and cream. It was a really good day out with all members.

After tea it was on with the quiz presented by Lynne Graham, with 20 questions on movies of the long and distant past.

Best wishes to Margaret Croshow on her birthday this month and to Arlene on her anniversary.

The meeting closed with the swindle, R40 club and raffles, and the WI prayer. Do not forget the YWP birthday party at the end of August. Competition results were read out. Many thanks to all who entered and to the judges as always.
