Wentworth roadblock lands 20 drunk drivers in dock

“These operations will continue to ensure our roads are safe for everyone.”

A ROADBLOCK operation netted 20 drunk drivers in Wentworth on Sunday, 22 April.
Wentworth SAPS vispol and Metro Police members held the joint operation in the evening.
“The drivers were arrested and charged for drunk driving and were released after they paid R1,000 bail each,” said Wentworth SAPS spokesman, Capt Mbuso Gumede.

“Drivers are warned to refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol, as that can pose a threat to not only their life but the lives of other innocent people.

Wentworth SAPS warns motorists who insist on driving while under the influence of alcohol to desist from the practise, as ongoing enforcement operations are being planned.
