Secondhand businesses warned to register by Wentworth police
Contact Sergeant Dunn to avoid possible arrest, detention and prosecution.
OWNERS of scrapyards and mechanic businesses are urged by Wentworth SAPS to register their business in terms of the Secondhand Goods Act.

Business owners are urged to make contact with Sergeant Dunn from Wentworth SAPS on 031- 4516222 for the application documents or to obtain the application form via the police website at www.saps.gov.za.

Wentworth SAPS spokesman, Capt Mbuso Gumede said: “Should any panel beater business owner or mechanic believe their business does not fall within the ambit of the Second Hand Goods Act, they should contact Sergeant Dunn to avoid possible arrest, detention and prosecution. The onus is on these business owners to ensure they are registered in terms of Section 2 of the Secondhand Goods Act, (Act 6 of 2009).”
