Bowlers take third place in annual Empangeni bowls tourney
Saturday, 7 September, sees the Thumpers Motorcycle Club host their annual spring jol.
This weekend saw two sides travel to represent Durban Wanderers in the annual Empangeni bowls tournament.
Both sides performed well on Saturday, 24 August, filling two of the top four places. Unfortunately the team of Spider Williams, Jeff Bolt, Thomas Simpkins and Tommy Cloete lost Sunday morning, 25 August’s game to blow their chances of a top four finish. Steve van Rooyen’s side of Richard Hendicott, Anthony Carr and Chad Wilson, however, did remarkably better to finish third overall.
The R700 snowball was a carry over, as Eric Swanson was not present. The Friday Lotto was a R980 carry over, as no one guessed the correct three numbers drawn.
