Wanderers bowlers to compete in Port Natal playoffs
On Wednesday, 18 September, the social section hosts a comedy quiz evening.

THIS weekend saw the continuation of the Port Natal men and women’s pairs.
The event is sponsored by Durban Wanderers each year and bowlers continue to do the club proud. Anthony Carr and Richard Hendicott narrowly lost on Saturday, 14 September, after making the last 16. Paul White and Dave le Roux did one better by winning their game on Saturday, but lost on Sunday morning, 15 September, in the last eight. Steve van Rooyen and Awongiwe Somtseu faired even better to reach the final playoffs or top four. Well done to them all and those who supported at the weekend. Final playoff dates are still to be announced.
Tuesday, 24 September, will see another fun day for bowlers and non-bowlers, with a bring and braai after prize-giving. Put your names down on the notice board list to avoid disappointment.
Friday’s various meat pack winners were:
- lamb pack – Mark Jackson;
- beef – Dianne Symons;
- pork roast – Rob Philogene;
- beef roast – Darryl Jacobson;
- chicken pack – Troy Simpkins;
- chicken – Jan van de Wall.
The R600 snowball was not won, as Abriham Joburt was not present.
The Friday Lotto, sitting at an unaudited R1 100, was a carry-over, as no one guessed the correct three numbers drawn.
On Wednesday, 18 September, the social section hosts a comedy quiz evening. Teams of four are invited to enter, with the fun starting at 6.30pm for 7pm. Cost is R20 per team.
Samantha’s Kitchen is closed on Mondays, but you can order off her extensive menu every other day. Call her on 081-486-7039 for more information.
