Breakfast trips continue despite bad weather

Sunday, 10 November, saw 54 bowlers brace the weather in the monthly breakfast trips at Durban Wanderers Club.

Sunday, 10 November, saw 54 bowlers brace the weather in the monthly breakfast trips at Durban Wanderers Club.

Overall winners on the day were Lofty Cawthorne, Robbie Carr and Valerie McCaffrey on a 4+16. Second overall were Steve van Rooyen, Dave Arnold and Robbie Spiller on a 4+11. Session prizes went the way of the two man team of Robin de Gouveia and Bradley Klaasen on a 2+9, and Tommy Cloete, Mike Flack and Russell Shepherd on a 2+16. The sportsman’s prize went the way of Robin Grobler, Trish Overington and Clive Symons on a 0-21. There were two 60/40 boards, with the first R40/ R20 prizes going to Diane Symonds and Dave Gardner and the second going to Jason Hewer and Denis Hearnshaw.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: lamb pack – Mitch Mitchley, beef – Brian Craig, pork roast – Dave Leuchars, beef roast – Robin Grobler, chicken pack – Colin Hartwig and chicken – Troy Simpkins.

The R800 snowball was a carry over as Christo Bosch was not present at the time of the draw. The Friday Lotto of R100 was a carry over as no-one predicted the correct three numbers drawn.

Monday, 23 December, will see the annual Christmas golf classic take place at Amanzimtoti Golf Course. Golfers can contact Mike Flack for further details on 083-227-1900. The clubs function rooms, tavern, upstairs and downstairs are now fully renovated and available for hire. The two squash courts also have some un-allocated time slots for members and non-members. Contact the club on 031-462-2320 or pop-in for further enquiries.
