PHOTOS: Eco Park transforms into a Christmas Wonderland
The event was a success through the collaborative efforts of the Bluff Eco Park and the Durban Christian Centre (DCC) Bluff branch which aimed to bring the message of Christmas to the community and create an accessible and affordable family-orientated environment.
A MERRY spirit was felt by all who were at the Bluff Eco Park’s Christmas Wonderland at the weekend. Starting from Friday, 6 to Sunday, 8 December, the festive event was enjoyed by the thousands who witnessed the Christmas market which featured a wonderland walk through, live nativity scenes, gingerbread decorating, Christmas photo booth cards, live music and dancing and a never ending stream of fun. This family-orientated event guaranteed and delivered a wonderful display of lights which came to life as dusk gradually turned into dark.

“The public were overwhelmingly positive and commented on the beautiful presentation, the family friendly environment and asked for the event to be repeated – it was a great success. To see the excitement on children’s faces, the parents’ joy and hear how appreciative everyone was, was so rewarding for us – thank you to everyone who came out and helped us make this a truly memorable experience,” said member of the church, Adam David.

Adam also thanked church volunteers, staff, musicians and the media department who ensured the smooth run of things at the concert and during the movie showcase and the craft market vendors who brought items to sell.
“We are grateful that God blessed this event and for the good weather. Even load shedding wasn’t a barrier because of our generator. We were pleasantly surprised by the huge turnout and will definitely be better prepared to accommodate our great community the next time we come together. Thank you to all who came to share this special time with us,” added Adam.
