Avoid these high-risk areas, police warn

"Limit your travels in this area," said captain Derek Vijiam.

A SPIKE in carjackings has warranted Montclair police to warn the public about the most notorious roads in the area.

Motorists are advised to always be on high alert more especially when traveling on the South Coast Road on and off-ramps to Merewent or Pendlebury Road.

This is a high-risk area because of the increase of carjackings. Be aware of your surroundings at all times and always lock your car doors. Should you notice suspicious people wandering around, make use of your hooter to draw attention or drive off if it is a lonely and desolate area.

“Limit your travels in this area,” said captain Derek Vijiam.
