Makro announces new partnership with OneCart

Additional stores will be included and launched in the coming weeks.

Makro is pleased to announce that the general merchandise, food and liquor retailer has partnered with delivery service, OneCart.

This partnership will allow customers greater access to Makro’s wide range of groceries and liquor, further providing it’s customers with another convenient way to shop and have it delivered straight to their doorstep. This service comprises of groceries and liquor which took effect from Monday, 1 June, at selected stores.

Even during these uncertain times in the country, Makro remains committed to the fight against the spread of Covid-19. The health and safety of all customers is top priority. Therefore, the drivers will at all times have hand sanitiser and a face mask. No physical contact will be made between the driver and the customer and a safe social distance will be complied with at all times.

Makro has seen an increase in demand for online shopping, particularly on groceries since the implementation of the lockdown on 27 March. Customers are finding ways to keep safe while shopping, which makes online such an attractive alternative. To ensure that they meet the needs of all customers, in excess of 11 000 of Makro’s grocery range will be available on OneCart’s website for purchase.

In addition, a selected range of about 124 liquor items are also available online, with a strict adherence to government’s lockdown level three liquor sales regulations. Minimum quantities are in place, in order to support responsible drinking as well as ensure that all customers have fair access to the drinks they enjoy.

OneCart offers the Cornubia branch a delivery service on both food and liquor, which is limited to a 15km catchment area. Makro Springfield will have only liquor available, also limited to a 15km radius.

Makro remains dedicated to enhancing customers shopping experience and through the new partnership, they aim to also improve on delivery services. Makro is no stranger to exciting, relevant and in demand delivery methods aimed at meeting the individual needs of all customers such as the pick-up lockers, click and collect and drive-thru services.
