Bluff teen seeks to help those in need
Always having had the desire to help those in need and victims of life’s unfortunate ordeals, Charné recently joined Help4Souls, a community-based organisation aimed at raising funds and donating food.

Always having had the desire to help those in need and victims of life’s unfortunate ordeals, Charné recently joined Help4Souls, a community-based organisation aimed at raising funds and donating food.
As a new volunteer and admin for the Bluff, the 15-year-old is calling for the community to assist her in building a strong support base that will assist towards the cause.
“We help everyone that we can whether it is through donations such as food parcels, school stationery or other forms of support. We also have a school project where we have organised some sponsors to help us deliver boxes of goods and essentials that will go a long way in helping learners settle in at school. Local schools that we assist include Dirkie Uys, The Kenmont School and Port Natal Skool,” she explained.
For her, this is her first humanitarian step towards making a difference in her community. She hopes to one day build on this become a social worker after school.
Help4Souls is a registered NPO, which operates across the whole of South Africa.The organisation was born when lockdown was announced in the country. It aims to drive food collection and distribution of food for the less fortunate. All funds raised will be used to provide essential commodities such as food, medicine and toiletries to the poor.
