Woodlands potjie comp a scrumptious success
The invitation was extended to the greater public as well as Yellowwood Park Sports Club and Wanderers Sports Club to battle it out for the annual inter-club floating trophy.
WOODLANDS Sports Club held their much-loved potjie competition on Saturday, 8 May.
The fun-filled event was enjoyed by all who attended and participated. The invitation to enter was extended to the greater public as well as Yellowwood Park Sports Club and Wanderers Sports Club to battle it out for the annual inter-club floating trophy.
“This was a huge success as all three clubs, members and supporters entered the potjie competition. A total of thirteen different potjies were made. A big thank you must go to the judges who taste-tested all thirteen dishes and selected the winners; Martin Gleisner and Christine Wilkinson,” said Woodlands Sports Club member, Chris Lelong.

The winning teams were; Iron Maiden MC (South Coast) representing Woodlands Sports Club in the first place, Team CHOC representing Yellowwood Park Sports club in second place and the winning table went to team Christmas in May.
“This event could not have happened without the sponsors of the prizes namely, a two-day stay at Orchards Bed and Breakfast in Camperdown, meat hamper from SALA Meats who donated a box of their products which is Georgie’s range of pork products as well as EIS Jacobs (Engineering Industrial Suppliers) for the donation of prizes,” added Lelong.
