Support Merewent Cheshire Home’s R27 donation campaign
To mark its birthday month, the home appeals to the greater public to pledge to the R-2-7 Campaign.
THE Merewent Cheshire Home turned 27 years old on Tuesday, 1 June.
To mark its birthday month, the home is appealing to the greater public to pledge to the R-2-7 Campaign.
“Twenty-seven represents how old the home is and what we require to help the home move forward. A mere R27 from the public can help the home improve our services, help pay for our water and electricity, food for the residents as well as ensure that they have 24-hour care,” said Merewent Cheshire Home social worker, Samara Hughes.
The organisation was not able to host any celebrations due to limited funds. Donations of R27 from the public throughout the month of June can total an amount that will help make a difference in helping staff make ends meet.
Merewent Cheshire Home, which houses over 30 residents, strives to work in partnership with people with disabilities to provide residential accommodation and services that promote independent living. The home also aims to initiate projects that address social and economic inequalities, thereby alleviating poverty and facilitating the social integration of people with disabilities into mainstream society.
Donations can be made to the following banking details: Standard Bank, account name: Merewent Cheshire Home, account number: 051745542, branch: Bluff, branch code: 043326
