Montclair Trio Crime detectives are investigating carjacking and business robbery cases.

Carjacking

A CASE is being investigated by the Montclair Trio Crime detectives after delivery men were held at gunpoint.

According to Montclair police’s Captain Derek Vijiam, two men were in a white Isuzu in Forestdene Road, Montclair on Friday, November 19, at about 15:30.

“The victim was driving the bakkie with the inscription Courier Guy. While collecting parcels he was approached by two unknown men. One of them pointed a firearm at the driver. They demanded the driver sit in-between them in the front and drove off,” he said.

The suspects proceeded into the area next to Montclair Senior Primary School. Vijiam said they offloaded goods collected from various customers into their vehicle.

“The courier assistant driver ran away when the opportunity arose,” he added.

Business robbery

THREE unknown men pounced on an unsuspecting shopkeeper in his shop on South Coast Road, Clairwood on Wednesday, November 17, at about 19:10.

“The victim was operating when he was approached by three men. These intruders pointed at him with firearms and made him lay on the floor.

“They removed a large amount of cash and cigarettes. They then alighted into an unknown vehicle and left in a haste,” said Vijiam, who added that Montclair detectives are investigating.
