RESIDENTS and businesses are informed of possible water restrictions in areas that are supplied from uMngeni-uThukela’s Wiggins Water Works High Lift Pump Station due to maintenance work being undertaken by uMngeni-uThukela at this facility.

The maintenance commenced at 08:00 and will continue until 16:00 on Friday, February 16. The eThekwini Municipality appealed to residents to use water sparingly.

“Water supply will depend on consumption patterns. In addition, water tankers will be deployed to affected areas,” the municipality said in a statement.

Affected areas include:

1. Woodlands 1 and 2: Austerville, Montclair, Sea View, Wentworth, Woodlands and Yellowwood Park.
2. Lamontville Reservoir: Havenside, Joe Slovo, Lamontville, Mobeni, Mobeni Heights, Prospecton Industrial, uMlazi V-Section and uMlazi Mission A.
3. Mobeni Reservoir: Durban Airport, Isiphingo Beach, Jacobs, Merebank East, Merewent, Mobeni, Mobeni West, Prospection Industrial and Reunion.
4. Sherwood 3 Reservoir: Bonela, Briardene, Claire Estate, Clare Hills, Garden Park, Morningside, Musgrave, Palmiet, Sherwood, Sparks, Springfield, Sydenham, Waterval Park, Westridge and Wiggins.
5. Chesterville Reservoir: Blackhurst, Bonela and Wiggins.
6. Ridge View Reservoir: Bellair, Blackhurst, Cato Manor, Coedmore, Hillary, Mount Vernon, Bellair, Ridgeview, Sea View, Umkhumbane, University and Wiggins.
7. St Thomas Reservoir: Essenwood, Morningside, Musgrave, Sparks, Sydenham and Westridge.
8. Curries Road Reservoir: AK, Essenwood, Greyville, Musgrave, Old Fort and Windermere.
9. North Ridge Reservoir: Essenwood, Morningside and Windermere.
10. Ridge End Reservoir: Morningside, Springfield, Stamford Hill and Windermere.
11. Rosetta Reservoir: AK, Morningside, Stamford Hill and Windermere.
12. Cato Manor Reservoir: Carrington Heights, Glenmore, Glenwood, Sea View, Umbilo, University, Westridge and Wiggins.
13. South Ridge Reservoir: Bulwer, Glenwood and Westridge.
