Residents of Wentworth, Merebank and The Bluff showed up in support of local businesses.

DISTRICT 6 libraries joined forces to orchestrate a lively flea market on March 27, held at the Austerville Community Hall.

Enthusiastically promoting community involvement, the event attracted residents from Merebank, Wentworth and The Bluff to support their neighbourhood vendors. An array of vendors spanning diverse sectors, such as culinary delights, arts and crafts, apparel, literature and beyond, set up shop to showcase their offerings.

The flea market, which saw a full house of registered vendors, was a testament to the collaborative efforts of the library departments to address the challenges faced by small businesses.

Phamina Ngcobo, the Austerville library’s librarian, expressed profound appreciation for the robust community backing. “The flea market went well, with community members turning out in large numbers to support the vendors. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported and participated in this event, making it a success as planned,” she said.
