Community rallies in support of injured Bluff cyclist

While training for the Tour Durban race, Miguel Botha was injured in a cycling accident.

THE Bluff community has united to support one of its own, Miguel Botha, fondly known as Miggie, following an unfortunate accident that has set him on a challenging path to recovery.

On April 19, tragedy struck as Miggie, an avid cyclist preparing for the Tour Durban race, encountered an accident that altered his journey.

In response, Miggie’s family initiated a Back a Buddy campaign, aimed at aiding in the replacement of his cherished bicycle and covering the extensive medical and rehabilitation expenses that lie ahead.

Celeste Thompson, a member of RTL8 who witnessed the incident said, “This initiative aims to provide financial relief during this difficult period, including necessary accommodations.”

Known for his generosity and readiness to assist others, Miggie has left a profound impact on numerous lives within our community. Thompson said now is an opportunity to stand in solidarity with him and his family during this trying time.
