Fynnland Primary School kicks off at winter sports day

Fynnland Primary School's annual Winter Fun Sports Day brought The Bluff community together in a lively celebration of sports.

FYNNLAND Primary School’s annual Winter Fun Sports Day united the Bluff community through an exhilarating celebration of sports on August 3.

The school’s field buzzed with excitement and competitive spirit as 25 teams engaged in various sports, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Eunet Pattinson, principal of Fynnland Primary, expressed her joy at the event’s success, stating, “Winter Fun Sports Day is our effort to bring the Bluff community together through sports. It’s wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves and supporting the teams.”

The event showcased a variety of sports, including mini-soccer, junior soccer, senior soccer, girls’ soccer, rugby and netball. Victories were claimed by Fynnland Primary School in mini-soccer; Brighton Beach Senior Primary School in junior soccer; Fynnland Primary School in senior soccer; Van Riebeck Park Primary School in girls’ soccer; Fynnland Primary School in rugby, and Dirkie Uys Primary School in netball.

Despite an average turnout, Pattinson noted that the atmosphere was incredible. Both spectators and participants enjoyed the festive environment, enthusiastically cheering on their favourite teams and celebrating the spirit of community and sportsmanship.
