Learners were taken on an educational outing to the wetlands to raise awareness about the importance of such vital ecosystems and how each individual can contribute toward their conservation.

Crow’s education officer, Pretty Gumede, and operations director Clint Halkett-Siddall led an enlightening wetlands presentation during the session. The learners grasped how wetlands support biodiversity, control water flow and serve as a home for various species.

Halkett-Siddall emphasised the significance of such educational programmes. “By educating learners and the community about vital ecosystems, we empower future generations to protect and preserve our environment. These programmes play a crucial role in fostering environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices,” he said.

Crow remains committed to environmental education and regular talks and interactive sessions are held at the centre to stimulate young minds.
