Just in: Fire erupts at tyre factory on Jacobs Road

A large portion of a factory is already engulfed in flames. Emergency services are currently working to bring the fire under control.

A MASSIVE fire has broke out a short while ago (August 17) at a tyre factory on Jacobs Road, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky.

Emergency services are currently at the scene attempting to douse a fire that has already engulfed a large portion of the factory.

The smoke has also disrupted traffic in the surrounding area with police closing sections of Jacobs Road and rerouting vehicles to ensure emergency access to the scene.
