THE SA Social Security Agency (Sassa) have announced that the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress grant payments for August will be paid from August 24 to 26.

Those who have been approved for the grant are advised to check their payment status. The agency also reminded beneficiaries about its WhatsApp self-service channel, designed to help recipients to access key information without having to visit or call the centre.

Sassa reminds recipients that making use of digital services can help significantly reduce pressure at its centres.

Beneficiaries can contact the automated self-service channel by contacting 082 601 0111 on WhatsApp.
