Deadline looms for SASSA card change
Sassa beneficiaries have six days left to make their switch from their gold Sassa cards to the black Postbank cards.
SOUTH African Social Security Agency (Sassa) beneficiaries who have not replaced their gold cards with the new Postbank black cards are urged to do so as the August 31 deadline looms.

The move is essential to avoid disruptions to beneficiaries’ social grant payments, as the gold cards are in the process of being phased out and will no longer work come Monday (August 31).
Don’t wait, move now
Postbank is urging beneficiaries to also not make the move last minute as this may result in longer queues at the card replacement facilities.
Thamsanqa Cele, Postbank chief commercial officer, said they have already picked up on an increase in queues at various replacement sites.
“We are already noticing a steady increase in queues at several of our card replacement sites and based on current trends, we anticipate that queues will become considerably longer in August, which is the final month before the deadline. Beneficiaries who postpone their visit until then may experience substantial delays due to the expected increase in demand,” said Cele.

Beneficiaries can collect their Postbank black cards from the following selected stores:
