Motorists to feel the pump as petrol price increases
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy have announced that the petrol price will go up by 129c/litre for September.
SOUTH African motorists will have to dig deeper into their pockets from Wednesday (September 2) as the price for petrol and diesel is expected to increase.

According to the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, both grades of petrol will increase by R1.29 per litre while diesel drivers will have to pay an increase of R2.94 per litre.
Other fuel products will feel the brunt as well, as illuminating paraffin will increase by R2.13 per litre (wholesale), and SMNRP for illuminating paraffin will increase by R2.84 per litre.
The latest adjustment will result in additional pressure on households with increased transport costs. Higher fuel prices can also have a knock-on effect on other products due to the transport of goods and services increasing.
Motorists are urged to fill their tanks before Wednesday and plan their travel routes smartly for the rest of the month.
