The supply interruption is required to allow the Energy Management Directorate to safely reconnect the 33kV Bayhead-Rossburgh circuit.

THE eThekwini Municipality has advised the public to make alternative arrangements ahead of a planned electricity outage scheduled for Thursday, October 9, from 08:00 to 17:00.
According to eThekwini, the supply interruption is required to allow the Energy Management Directorate to safely reconnect 33kV Bayhead-Rossburgh circuit and commissioning differential protection scheme at the Rossburgh Substation. Only the Karim Lane Substation will be affected by this outage.
Parts of the following areas will be affected:
  • Clairwood,
  • Rossburgh
  • Seaview.
“We urge customers in the area to plan for this outage. During this outage, the public is advised to treat all electrical installations as live,” eThekwini said in a statement.
