Prepaid electricity vending systems still down
The eThekwini Municipality are still working to fix their prepaid electricity vending system which has been down since midday yesterday.
RESIDENTS across eThekwini have been unable to purchase prepaid electricity tokens through its regular channel due to a technical interruption affecting the system since yesterday (September 6) midday.

Electricity Customer Service Centres
The City is urging residents to use the alternative Electricity Customer Service Centres while they work on getting the system back online:
- Electricity Headquarters 1 Jelf Taylor Crescent (Rotunda).
- Bester Customer Services Centre- 20 Ntuzuma Access Road KwaMashu/Bester (Corner of Ntuzuma Road.
- Isipingo Customer Services Centre – 3 Police Station Road.
- Pinetown Customer Services Centre – 60 Kings Road.
- Umhlanga Customer Services Centre – 15 Twilight Drive.
- Queensburgh Customer Services Centre- 3 Rycroft Road (Off Main Road).
The City apologised for the inconvenience the system failure causes and said it appreciates residents’ patience while they work to fix it.
Any updates to the fix of the technical challenge will be communicated through official platforms.
