Local filmmaker’s latest flick screened at festival this weekend
The iconic film was presented using nature and the city of Durban as its backdrop.
Renowned award-winning director, Eubulus Timothy’s latest film, Vivaldi’s Spring in the Time of Covid-19, will be screened as part of the Made in Chatsworth Book Fair and Film Festival.
The film demonstrates the power of music while the theme of spring provides hope and rebirth. The film portrays an uplifting message, reminding us of the predicament we faced in a time of crisis during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“What I really enjoyed about this film was the vibrant and enthusiastic cast who had a lot of fun making this rendition of a classic piece of music,” says Timothy.
Vivaldi’s Spring in the Time of Covid-19 won Ethekwini Filmmaker’s Best Artistic Film 2021, Best Short Film and Best Use of a Location. The Musgrave-based filmmaker was also nominated for two Simon Sabela Film Awards. To add to his long list of accolades, Timothy also won the Durban Tourism Best Filmmaker 2021 award.
The Made In Chatsworth Book Fair and Film Festival runs from November 4 to 6 at Depot Road Memorial Primary School, Chatsworth. Vivaldi’s Spring in the Time of Covid-19 will be screened on November 6 and is free to the public.
