Update: Bluff child, 4, drowns after allegedly falling into family pool
Advanced life support paramedics who arrived at the scene, immediately began resuscitating the child. However, after lengthy efforts, the child showed no signs of life and was declared deceased at the scene.
Despite paramedics efforts to resuscitate the four-year-old boy after he had allegedly fallen into a pool, he was declared deceased a short while ago.
The drowning incident happened at a home on The Bluff, on December 15.
Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics spokesperson, said paramedics responded to multiple calls for assistance at about 13:45.
“On arrival, paramedics found the little boy in a state of cardiac arrest. Advanced life support paramedics immediately began resuscitating the child. Unfortunately, after lengthy efforts, the child showed no signs of life and was declared deceased at the scene. It is alleged the child fell into the pool.

“At this stage, the events leading up to the drowning are unknown. However, SAPS are in attendance and will be investigating further,” he said.
