Those affected by crimes or gender-based violence can contact the Brighton beach police station and speak to a qualified trauma debriefer.

Pastor Malcolm Nair, chairperson of the Brighton Beach SCPF, said the forum has worked to strengthen its commitment to supporting victims of crime and GBV through the appointment of dedicated trauma debriefers.

Nair also dispelled rumours that the victim friendly room and GBV desk have been closed down.

“Our trauma debriefers will work alongside existing policing structures, including the victim friendly room, GBV desk and Brighton Beach police,” he said.
