WATCH: Sea rescue institute and wildlife centre release rehabilitated albatross

The yellow-nosed albatross was released after three weeks of rehabilitation at Crow.

The rescued yellow-nosed albatross has made a full recovery.

THE National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) partnered with the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) to release the yellow-nosed albatross out in the ocean recently.

The bird was rescued from Amanzimtoti.

CROW’S operations director, Clint Halkett-Siddall, was excited to announce that after three weeks of dedicated rehabilitation, the centre’s majestic friend was ready to spread its wings once more.

“With newfound strength and vigour, we were both happy and sad when it was time to release the magnificent creature back to its natural habitat.

“When released into the open skies, the yellow-nosed albatross wasted no time in reuniting with its fellow albatross companions. We are pleased to have been a part of the bird’s rehabilitation and proud that we have contributed to another wildlife animal’s rescue and release,” he added.
