PHOTOS: Young athletes sprint to the finish line

Jennifer Mangaroo, a teacher at the school, was delighted with the enthusiasm and energy displayed by both the learners and the staff.

IT was tough competition when athletes from Nizam Road Primary School dashed to the finish line at the school’s first sports day in four years.

Learners eagerly participated in the event, which included athletics and a few novelty races.

Teacher Jennifer Mangaroo said learners and staff were full of excitement and energy as they engaged in friendly competition.

“The day kicked off with a memorable opening ceremony, highlighted by a colourful march past all of the houses lined up against one another. The atmosphere was filled with cheers, laughter and enthusiasm.

“Parents and teachers cheered on from the stands, thrilled to see their children participate with utmost dedication and sportsmanship.

“In between the events, learners enjoyed refreshments, music and dance, making the day all the more lively. We are proud that our sports day was a huge success, and everyone left with a sense of achievement and pride.

“It was an excellent opportunity to promote fitness, teamwork and healthy competition, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event,” Mangaroo added.
