No floating bodies at Wentworth cemetery – Ward 68 councillor
Aubrey Snyman dismisses social media reports of floating bodies at Wentworth cemetery. He attributed the damage to a poor drainage system.
WARD 68 councillor, Aubrey Snyman has rejected previous social media reports claiming that dead bodies were floating on the road near the Wentworth cemetery.
Snyman said that water coming from the Wentworth Hospital gushed towards the cemetery, causing excessive damage to some of the cemetery’s graves.

While the top part of the cemetery, including granite tombstones, washed away, Snyman assured residents that no bodies were dislodged due to the collapse of the soil following heavy rains over the weekend.
“The Parks and Recreation team from eThekwini Municipality is assessing the damage at the grave site. This is not the first incident, it has happened before. This is mainly caused by a poor drainage system,” said Snyman.
He warned the public to refrain from disseminating false information.
