Witness appeal in Wentworth culpable homicide case

Wentworth police are appealing to the community to provide any information that could assist detectives in their investigation.

POLICE in Wentworth are appealing to the public for information regarding the body of a man that was found along the M4 southern Freeway.

A driver who made the discovery on May 7 notified the Wentworth police after he spotted the body near the bridge on Quality Street.

Police spokesperson in Wentworth Captain Mbuso Gumede said, “The deceased was wearing a black jeans and a black leather belt. The family had already identified the deceased in the mortuary.

“Upon arrival at the scene, police and paramedics found the victim lying near the guardrails on the M4. He had sustained head injuries and broken legs. It is suspected that he was struck by a vehicle,” said Gumede.

Gumede said anyone with information can contact the investigating officer on 079 500 1167 or CrimeStop Number 086 001 0111.
