Help Crow feed wildlife

Crow is appealing to the community to help collect flying ants that can be used to feed the local wildlife.

THE Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) has called on the community to help with the feeding and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife by collecting flying ants, which are a natural source of food for many animals.

The NPO said there are many benefits to these ants.

“Flying ants are a natural, high-protein food source essential for the health and recovery of many wild birds and small mammals. During warm days in late spring and summer, flying ant activity increases, making this the ideal time to assist CROW with wildlife feeding and rehabilitation,” read the statement.

Drop-off:

Residents are free to drop their collected flying ants at the Crow facility at 15A Coedmore Avenue, Yellowwood Park.
