Crow express gratitude for Giving Tuesday support

Crow said through the community’s support on Giving Tuesday, they were able to secure the essential items needed for day-to-day care.

THE Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) has expressed its gratitude to its supporters after a successful 2025 Giving Tuesday. With the help of the community, Crow acquired essential equipment needed to help injured, orphaned and displaced animals.

Clint Halkett-Siddall, director at Crow, said Giving Tuesday is a global day where people, groups and companies are encouraged to support causes they care about.

“For Crow, it was an opportunity to appeal to our community to help raise funds for much-needed essential items that are required to provide the care that we do,” he said.

The wish list

Crow ambitiously aimed to raise R50 000 on the day, with a goal to buy an industrial washing machine for animal bedding, refrigerators for the education centre and volunteer house and pressure hoses for general upkeep.

Halkett-Siddall said that the community had gone above and beyond and that enabled them to secure every item on their wish list.

“We are especially grateful to the Baumann Trust for their generous contribution. These resources are already making a meaningful difference in our daily operations,” he said.

Halkett-Siddall reminded the community that Crow is an NPO and depends on donations and public support, as it does not receive government funding.

“We are deeply thankful to everyone who donated, shared our campaign or supported us in any way. Every contribution, big or small, helps us continue giving wildlife a second chance at life,” said Halkett-Siddall.
