EMADLANGENI LOCAL MUNICIPALITY IS APPLYING FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION IN TERMS OF THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT, 1998 (ACT NO. 107 OF 1998) NOTICE AND INVITATION TO REGISTER AND COMMENT Notice is hereby given in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 (as amended), that eMadlangeni Local Municipality intends applying for Environmental Authorisation from EDTEA for the proposed upgrade of the existing abattoir facility located within Balele Game Park near Utrecht, KwaZulu-Natal. The proposed development triggers activities listed under the EIA Regulations, 2014 (as amended), and therefore requires a Basic Assessment Process to be undertaken prior to commencement of the proposed activities. Blue Green Environmental Consultants has been appointed as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to undertake the Basic Assessment Process and facilitate the Public Participation Process.
