NEWCASTLE MUNICIPALITY NO. CS20/2026 NOTICE IN TERMS OF SECTION 116(3) OF THE MUNICIPAL FINANCE MANAGEMENT ACT, 2003 (ACT NO. 56 OF 2003) Notice is hereby given in terms of section 116(3)(a) and (b) of the Municipal Finance Management Act, 56 of 2003 (MFMA), that Newcastle Local Municipality intends to amend the following existing contracts by temporarily continuing the contracts on a month-to-month basis, subject to a maximum period of twelve (12) months or until replacement contracts are awarded, whichever occurs first: REASONS FOR THE PROPOSED EXTENSION: The contracts provide critical Information and Communication Technology (CT) services necessary for the continued functioning of municipal operations and service delivery. Replacement procurement processes have been initiated. One replacement tender is currently under advertisement, whilst the remaining procurement processes are being finalized following amendments recommended by the Bid Specification Committee. Consequently, replacement contracts will not be awarded before the expiry of the existing contracts. To ensure continuity of essential ICT services and avoid disruption to municipal operations and service delivery, the Municipality intends to continue the contracts on a temporary month-to-month basis pending the finalization and award of replacement contracts.
