Dismal turn-out at ratepayers AGM means all’s well in YWP

Only 12 ratepayers arrived at the meeting there can be absolutely nothing wrong with the neighbourhood and everything is going very well.

EDITOR – On the first Monday of every month a meeting of the ratepayers of the area is held at the Yellowwood Park Civic Centre (or hall as it is now for some unknown reason been renamed).

Last Monday was the AGM and there were about 12 persons present.

I really cannot understand why ratepayers can write long moaning letters to your publication and continually gripe about conditions in the area, and yet when the opportunity arises for them to actually speak out, they do not attend a meeting so that their complaints can be heard. Obviously, as only 12 ratepayers arrived at the meeting there can be absolutely nothing wrong with the neighbourhood and everything is going very well.
