Speeding, not trees, to blame for Bluff Road woes

The problem is excessive speed and motorists who try to beat the lights

EDITOR – I refer to my letter in the Sun edition dated 21 September and thank Councillor JP Prinsloo for his immediate response.

However, I must take issue for the reasons put forward for the removal of the trees.

For more than 40 years, I have driven through the intersection in question on a regular basis in both car and motorcycle without experiencing line of sight problems.

The problem is excessive speed and motorists who try to beat the lights both up and down Bluff Road and while turning right into Old Mission Road. The removal of the trees with not curb the problem and I’m sure future statistics will prove me correct.
