EDITOR – The greatest threat to the future of our once humble, tolerant a caring and loving society is now religion.
All the problems we encounter in our society – the shifting of government, Aids, terrorism, diseases and weapons of mass destruction – are simply the tools used by religion.
More wars have been fought in the name of religion than any other influence.
Why is religion so powerful and controlling? Why it is more powerful than politics? Religion is not just a social, cultural, political or ideological factor. Instead it finds power in the personal chamber of the soul of the individual.
Why is man more willing to die for the sake of his religion than any political social or ideological reasons? With all the advancements in post-modern society, we still are no better than our ancestors of old.
We are smarter but not wiser, we live longer but not healthier, we have more but enjoy less, we can go to the moon but cannot go to a good family. Tragically we protect rhinos and whales but kill our children. We have more religion but less love.
I find it ironic that most of the current crisis and tensions are product of our strongly influenced religions.
Why can’t we just live together? We are all the same, searching for the same thing.
What makes us different is the route and systems we implement.
Simply, all people are the same, looking for the same thing, same answer to the same questions.
All religions are a result of man’s search for a supreme being identified as God.
