Dave, Bridget climb on Bluff BC perch

The board draw was won by Ronel Morel.

BLUFF Bowling Club's Craig Bell any pairs tournament for September was held on Sunday, and Wentworth's Dave Le Roux and Bridget White edged out the Bluff's Phyllis Maritz and Chrissie Smith.

Their score of 4+15 knocked Brian and Paula Osman off the perch and puts them on track to win the R1,600 bonus up for grabs at next month's competition, which will be held on Sunday, 13 October.

The first session was won by Ken Thomas and Dennis Gericke on a +9 while Luvoyu and Moses took the second session on +10. The board draw was won by Ronel Morel.

There were no lotto winners on Friday night and the carry-over pool now stands at R975.

The attendance draw was also not won.

On Saturday afternoon there were two mixed pairs competition matches played, where Gary Moffat and Lilah Nel defeated Wayne Tonkin and Elise Stapelberg 22-7. This score however doesn't reflect how close the actual game was. In the other match Dave Rowe and Vicky Williams edged out Glynis Macrory and Alex Fisher 18-16 in another closely contested game.

The PNB mens pairs continued on Saturday afternoon and unfortunately the last two pairs representing the club fell when Clinton Bisset and Deon Maritz as well as Robert Mhlongo and Noel Morel were knocked out.

The Brian Osman pairs will take place on Thursday morning, 19 September and members, friends and family are reminded about the fun but serious bowls day followed by a braai on Heritage Day on Tuesday, 24 September.
