Bowlers battle inclement weather
On Sunday there were two games played in the mixed drawn pairs competition in wet and slightly heavy conditions.

THE Bluff bowlers and I presume the bowling fraternity as a whole had a windy and wet weekend, however some had to brave it out and play competitions on both Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
On Saturday afternoon, the high winds and cold temperature didn’t stop an exciting game of mixed trips, where it took an extra end to decide the winners between Dudley Dorrofield’s mixed trips side of himself,Wayne Tonkin and Ronel Morel who edged out Robert Mhlongo, Lilah Nel and Dawn Spack after the scores were locked at 18-18 after 18 ends.
In the other mixed trips game played on Saturday, Glynis Macrory, Noel Morel and Jay Retief outlasted Gary Moffat, Kurt Spack and Paula Osman and eventually ran out 18-13 winners.
On Sunday there were two games played in the mixed drawn pairs competition in wet and slightly heavy conditions. In the game between Noel Morel and Mari McKenzie against Dave Rowe and Elize Stapelberg, Noel and Mari won quite comfortably by 25-15.
In the other match however, it was a close encounter with Sarie Bisset and Rob Davies edging out husband Clinton and Jay Retief 21-20.
The Tony Hoggins 3-2-1 killer competition takes place on Friday, 1 November and with both greens open, Bluff BC can cater for all so go join in a good morning of bowls followed by Eve’s superb curry and rice for lunch.
Members are reminded that the women’s annual fours competition takes place on 2 and 3 November. Men, go and support the women and enjoy a few cold ones while watching.
