Clinton and Jorge climb on Bluff BC perch

CLINTON Bisset and Jorge Santos won the Craig Bell any pairs competition at Bluff Bowling Club on Sunday morning on a score of 4+20 and in doing so, knocked Mouse Ratcliffe and Andy Andrascho off the perch.

The 1st session winners were Robert Mhlongo and Alex Fisher on a 2+13, while Terry Mickelson and Ellen Loots won the second session on a 2+10.

Jumbo Nel won the 50/50 board. There were two raffle draws and Terry won the whiskey while Ronel Morel won the pork.

The next Craig Bell any pairs will take place on Sunday, 5 January 2014 with the perch prize standing at R1,800. Contact Gary or Allen to confirm your entry.

The last Brian Osman any pairs for the year was held on 21 November and saw Lofty Cawthorne and Ronnie Jackson walk off with the first prize on a 4+17. The 1st session was won by Tony Hoggins and Alex Fisher on a 2+7, while Robert Mhlongo and Robbie Carr took the 2nd session on a 2+11. Andy Andrascho took home the chicken raffle as well as the 50/50 board. Tony Hoggins won the pork raffle. There was a prize for the most points accumulated during the year and Alex Fisher took the turkey home this year.

The next Brian Osman any pairs will take place on Thursday, 16 January 2014 so contact Allen or Gary to confirm your entry.

There were four club competition finals played recently. In the women’s drawn pairs, Lilah Nel and Jay Retief defeated Janice Rodgers and Dawn Spack. In the women’s nominated pairs Janice Rodgers and Elize Stapelberg beat June Foster and Lilah Nel. In the women’s fours final Janice Rodgers, Sarie Bisset, Jay Retief and Paula Osman beat Eve Michna, Glynis Macrory, Chrissie Smith and Ronel Morel. The mixed trips final was also played and Glynis Macrory, Noel Morel and Jay Retief proved too strong for Dudley Dorrofield, Wayne (the dogg) Tonkin and Ronel Morel.

Well done to all those who participated in the finals and congratulations to the winners. Better luck next time to those who lost.

Dates to remember: Saturday, 7 December is prize giving; 8 December is the AGM; 15 December is the Lilah Nel any pairs Christmas edition, and 16 December is the Sharks versus Guppies.
