Woodlands bowlers get fed despite rain cancelling bowls

AT Woodlands Bowling Club the wet weather was the resounding winner during the week, resulting in the casual pairs and breakfast fours not being played.
However big thanks go to most of the teams who entered the fours, for arriving at the club and supporting the breakfast. It was greatly appreciated.
Hopefully the rain will stay away for the shirts and skirts on Sunday, 23 March and the fun bowls day on Sunday, 30 March in which everyone is invited to participate. Flat soled shoes are the only pre-requisite. Bingo will also take place in the tabs room on Wednesday, 26 March.
Lesley Morrison, Kobus van Vuuren and Henry Hamilton picked the drawn numbers for Friday night’s meat draw while the snowball was once again carried over by the absence of Dave Painter. Carol Lauderdale won the national Lotto bonus number draw, this after her having first choice of the prizes in the Saturday swindle.
The other swindle winners were Abie Joubert, Trevor Hubbard, Ralph Mostert, Dawn Moore, Kobus van Vuuren, Arlene Leuchars, Rob de Wildt, Liz Mundy and Lesley Morrison. Congratulations to Anthony Smith who celebrated his 18th birthday on Sunday, 9 March. Dirk Venter, father in law of Chubbydale Greg Berry has just returned from another boat cruise to Mozambique, sporting what looks like the biggest love bite in creation, after taking a tumble on board – he claims he was distracted by thoughts of Greg’s newfound singing prowess.
