Well done and thanks Willie.

The Tuesday turnout was unfortunately not great, however we had a trips game where it was decided to let our newer bowlers skip, the outcome was a win for Ron Adinall and his team playing against Robin De Gouveia and his team, well done Ron.

The Wednesday family and friends bowls was unfortunately called off after a few ends due to a heavy downpour, so no results.

The turnout for the Friday men’s casual bowls was great thanks to all who played.

The results are:

First prize went to John Somerville, Dave Matthews and Smiler Wilesmith with a plus 14.

Second prize went to Keith Wild,Tom Cloete and Dave Millar with a plus 8.

The sportsman’s prize was taken by Dirk Venter, Brian Smith and Stan (my man) McKenzie.

The meat raffles went to: Pork Kentucky ham to Ken Koch with number 15 and beef to Graham Bransby with number 66.

The first 60/40 board draw was won by Gerald Castor Royale with number 40 and second draw was won by who else, Graham Bransby with number seven.

The second 60/40 board draw was won by Allen Ritchie with number 53 and second draw was won by Blimey none other than Gerald Castor Royale with number 10.

Well done to all.

The Grace Hair trips were played on Saturday, unfortunately we only managed to start with five teams and so had to draw to see who would get a bye through to the semi-finals. The lucky team was Rodney Smith,Cora and Bokka van der Westhuizen. The games played resulted as follows: John, Terry and Val lost to Dirk, Eileen and Johnny by 22 shots to 10. In the second game Hilton, Ina and Robin beat Maria, Tom and Margaret by 19 shots to 11. Sunday morning saw Hilton, Ina and Robin beat Rodney, Cora and Bokka by 23 shot to 11. The final between Dirk and his team vs Hilton and his team will be played on Sunday, 23 March at noon. Go along and support.

I wrongly said that the league was to be played this last Saturday, it is in fact it is on Saturday, 22 March. My apologies for the error. Our A teams are playing Amanzimtoti at home and the B sides are away to Chatsworth. Good luck to all the teams.

Weather permitting, we will have our usual weekly competitions: Tuesday men’s drawn pairs at 9am, Wednesday family and friends fun bowls at 3pm. A reminder that Friday, 21 March is a public holiday. Contact the club for information on competitions.
