Hike in woodlands of New Germany

A donation of R20 is required towards the upkeep of the reserve.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club tackles a 9km, moderate graded hike of New Germany on Saturday, 10 May.

Meet at the New Germany Nature Reserve at 1.45pm. The hike is along woodlands and grasslands, and a shorter hike will be available. A donation of R20 is required towards the upkeep of the reserve.

On Sunday, 11 May, hikers will take a hike to El Olam, Eston. Call hike leader Jon Stevens on 082-459-1522.

Meet at Union Main Centre, Old Main Road, Pinetown (be aware of one-way system for access) in time for a prompt 7.30am departure and a day hiking the rolling hills overlooking the Gwahumbe Valley. Cost is R50 per person for petrol-sharing.

The hike takes in a distance of about 15km at a grading two to three, moderate to strenuous.
