Eileen and team win fun bowls prize

WENTWORTH Bowling Club had a quiet week.
The results for the family and friends fun bowls played on Wednesday, 2 July are: First prize went to Eilleen du Plessis, Dave Carrol and Johan Nel and the sportsman prize was taken by Cora van der Westhuizen, Margaret Walters and Zoe Dougal. The 60/40 board went to Ina Davies and Ellen Loots.
Well done and congratulations to Cora van der Westhuizen who won the clubs women’s singles championship.
Thoughts and prayers are with Val Herbert who is in hospital. The club wishes her a speedy recovery.

The club nominated women and men’s pairs competition starts on Saturday, 12 July. Late entries are welcome until 1pm on Saturday. The open draw is at 1.15pm and play starts at 2pm.
Events for the next week: On Wednesday, 9 July family and friends fun bowls at 3pm. All new bowlers welcome, bring flat-soled shoes, bowls are available.
On Friday, 11 July is the men’ s casual bowls at 9am.
On Saturday, 12 July the women’s and men’s club nominated pairs competition is at 2pm.
The kitchen is open daily from Tuesdays until Sundays from 8am till 6pm. Breakfast, bar lunches and Sunday lunches are served. Tuesday’s at 12.30pm scones with strawberry jam and cream will be served with tea to pensionsers. Call Ina Davies on 082-768 4644.
