DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club sets off for Westville and Hammarsdale this weekend.
Take a hike to Palmiet Nature Reserve on Saturday, 23 August.
Call hike leader Linda on 083-353-8319. Enjoy a shady walk beside the Palmiet River. Meet at the reserve entrance off Old New Germany Road, below Westville Hotel. Afterwards at 1.45pm for a get together at the Westville Hotel for a chat and drinks. This hike is rated moderate, has a vertigo warning and is graded two.
On Sunday, 24 August hikers take a trip to Mustang mountain. Call hike leader Jenny on 084-952-0622.
Revival of a circular route around the Hammarsdale area. Meet at Union Main Centre, Old Main Road, Pinetown at 8am to drive in convoy to parking place. Cost of petrol-sharing is R25 per person. This 15km hike is graded two, moderate.
