THE popular monthly Tony Hoggins/June Foster 3-2-1 killer made history when the winning score was attained by two teams and as there is no percentage rule applicable to this format, both teams were awarded first prize when Ken Koch and Eric Smit along with Kurt Spack and Bob Hayward returned the identical scores of 2+26.
The first and second session was also unusual as both were won on scores of 2+18 with the first session being won by Ken Thomas and Bob Jubber while the second session went to Colin Nicholas and partner. Colin also claimed the most touchers prize with seven. The roast beef raffle was won by Tony Hoggins and the 50/50 board was won by Dirk Venter. Finally the sportsmen’s prize went to Bill Adinall and Brian Osman on a magnificent 0-29. Next month’s competition will be held on Friday morning, 3 October.
This past weekend there were two men’s fours matches played and Robert Mhlongo’s team of Eddie Human, Allen Ritchie and Michael Schudel defeated Norman Robinson’s team of Tony Hoggins, Dave Lavas and Harvey Simpkins. In the other match Robbie Johnston’s side of Greg Dorrofield, Spider Williams and Mouse Ratcliffe beat Dave Le Roux, Dave Rowe Brian Osman and Titch Fraser.
The PNB pairs for both men and women commenced on Sunday and at the time of going to press, the club had two teams going through to the knockout stages, namely Robbie Johnston and Tony Hoggins and Daphne Reinhardt and Sarie Bisset. Well done to both pairs and good luck at Durban Wanderers next weekend.
