On Sunday, Gloria Rice and Linda Hewer played in the quarter-finals in the Port Natal women’s pairs against Westville Country Club. The weather was very hot. They won that game 21 – 15. After lunch they played against Parkhill Bowling Club. Woodlands had to fight for every point and in the 15th end finally peeled, then the wheels fell off. Linda Hewer fell ill and after the 18th end Gloria Rice conceded the game to Parkhill. Not a nice way to go out of a Port Natal competition.

On Saturday, 20 September the club will be holding its annual AGM. Starting time is 1pm for 1.30pm in the tabs room. Members to wear white and each member is asked to take a plate of snacks to share afterwards.
